As the Lenten season draws to an end, we invite
everyone to join us for an opportunity to witness the last days in Jesus’ life
as the 8th grade class presents a living Stations of the Cross. This hauntingly
beautiful shadow play highlights the importance of the final hours during which
Jesus suffered and died for our sins. It is a perfect way to prepare for
Easter. We hope you will set aside the time to not simply attend, but
experience, this performance.
It was a beautiful night at the Miss BK Pageant yesterday. Awards received were Hailey Klein, Miss Congeniality, and Grace McCormick (SJCS Alum ’16), Top Sales. The second runner up went to Dailey Jackson. The Most Photogenic award, Most Service award, and First Runner up was Catherine Giordano. And last, but certainly not least, the Most Talented Award and Best Interview Award went to Mary Elizabeth Shoemaker(SJCS Alum ’16), who was also crowned your 2019-2020 Miss Bishop Kenny!

What is Scrip?
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase Scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift cards that are used just like cash. You can use Scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, entertainment, and other essentials. With every purchase you make, San Jose Catholic School will earn revenue!
How Scrip generates revenue for SJCS
The Great Lakes Scrip center acts on behalf of churches, schools, and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the Scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. SJCS buys the Scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount and re-sells gift cards to families like yours for full face value. The discount – from two to sixteen percent or more – is our school’s revenue.
Scrip is easy and popular
Scrip is an easy and popular way for families to help SJCS. Groceries, clothing, toys, electronics, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with Scrip. Families produce revenue FOR SJCS by making regular household purchases! These gift cards are the very same cards that you have been purchasing directly from vendors or at retail outlets.

Raise Them Strong
Bullying is getting worse and parents want answers. Like educators, they are frustrated with programs and policies that fail to stop conflicts. Jeff teaches parents how to raise resilient kids and help children that are targets of social aggression. As a result, parents learn how to empower their student to stop mean behavior and solve social problems, without the constant need for adult intervention.
