San Jose Parish Las Posadas

The rain didn’t dampen spirits at our celebration of Las Posadas on Friday evening. Las Posadas is a ritual re-enactment of Mary and Joseph’s search for a lodging in Bethlehem, performed just before Christmas. We enjoyed prayers and songs in the five dominant languages of our parish. The evening was capped with a piñata, hot chocolate and other refreshments.

Attention San Jose Jr. Youth Families:

You and your family are invited to a beautiful holiday tradition on Friday, December 14 at 6:30 pm. Join us in a candlelight procession as we search for a place where Mary can give birth to Jesus.

This is a multicultural presentation of a beautiful Mexican tradition. There will be music & prayers in our five dominant languages, a piñata, candy, gifts & prizes for the children, and treats for all. We begin with gathering at the parish hall and we will finish the evening at the church.

San Jose Jr Youth at Sweet Pete’s

On Friday November 30th, San Jose Jr. Youth headed out to Sweet Pete’s in downtown Jacksonville to create hand-made candy canes. A great time was had by everyone as we twisted our sweet creations into personalized art. After our candy making class, we headed down to the ice cream shop for a sweet scoop. Many thanks to our youth director, Mike Diaz, for bringing us all together for this special event.
