Open to Students in grades 7 – 8

The Jacksonville Miracle League provides opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to play baseball, regardless of their abilities. To help the athletes, the Miracle League uses a “buddy” system, pairing players with an able-bodied peer. The Miracle League is always in need of Buddies – adults or teenagers – to help the players with batting, rounding the bases, and fielding. Buddies need to be physically able to protect the players from harm and assist the players as needed. Safety is the primary goal; the fun comes naturally! Though the Miracle League calls them Buddies, many refer to them as Angels in the Outfield.

Service to others is an integral part of Catholic education. Our 8th graders give individuals with special needs the gift of baseball by volunteering as a Buddy with the Miracle League of Jacksonville.
